1. Schlumberger - $48.6bn

Schlumberger, Houston based company, earned a record full-year revenue of $48.6bn in 2014, a 7% increase from its 2013 revenue of $45.3bn.

Its offshore drilling services include extended-reach, deepwater, and high-pressure, high-temperature wells, multilaterals and unconventional gas. Schlumberger provided drilling management services for the Epsilon Oilfield in Aegean Sea, Greece. It was also involved in the development of oilfields like Avouma Field in Gabon and Bream Area Project, Central North Sea, Norway.

2. Halliburton - $32.9bn

Halliburton, an oilfield services provider based in Houston and Dubai, earned $32.9bn in revenue in 2014, recording 12% growth over its 2013 revenue of $29.4bn.
Halliburton provided drilling services on the Jasmine field in the North Sea, UK. It was also involved in the development of offshore fields like Tupi, and Barracuda and Caratinga Fields in Brazil.


3. Baker Hughes - $24.6bn

Houston-based oilfield services company Baker Hughes recorded revenue of $24.6bn in 2014, a 10% increase over the previous year.
Skuld offshore field in the Norwegian Sea and the Who Dat field in the US Gulf of Mexico are some of the major offshore oil fields for which Baker Hughes provided drilling services.

4. Fluor - $21.5bn
Flour, Texas based company, an engineering and construction firm Fluor earned revenue of $21.5bn in 2014, down from $27.4bn in 2015.
Fluor was involved in the development of certain major offshore fields such as Nasr/Al-Nasr field development in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the Enfield oil field in Australia, the Bohai Bay field in China and the Ku-Maloob-Zaap field in Mexico.


5. Weatherford - $14.9bn
Irish oil and natural gas service company Weatherford's revenue in 2014 dropped slightly by 2% to $14.9bn down from 2013.Weatherford provided drilling services for the Cliff Head Field in Australia and also participated in the development of oilfields Grane field in Norway and Tindalo oil field in the Philippines.

6. Saipem - $14bn
Italian offshore and onshore oil and gas contractor Saipem, a subsidiary of Italian energy company Eni, earned revenue of approximately $14bn in 2014, compared to $11.3bn in 2013.
Saipem has drilled more than 1,750 offshore wells and was involved in the development of offshore oil fields including Kashagan offshore oilfield in Kazakhstan, Kaombo Ultra-Deep Offshore Project in Angola and Eldfisk Oil and Gas Field in North Sea, Norway.

7. Transocean - $9.17bn

Revenue earned by Swiss offshore drilling contractor Transocean in 2014 remained steady at $9.17bn as compared to $9.25bn in 2013.
Some of the offshore projects that utilised Transocean's services include Leviathan gas field in the Mediterranean Sea near Israel, Jack / St Malo Deepwater Oil Project located in US Gulf of Mexico, and the Tyrihans Oil and Gas Field in the Norwegian Sea.

8. Nabors Offshore - $6.8bn

2014 revenue at Nabors, an oil, natural gas and geothermal drilling contractor based in Bermuda, rose by 10% to $6.8bn compared to $6.15bn in 2013. Nabors provided drilling rig for the development of the Nikaitchuq oilfield and Oooguruk offshore oilfield near the North Slope of Alaska.

9. Petrofac
Petrofac - $6.2bn
British oilfield services company Petrofac witnessed a marginal drop in 2014 revenue down to $6.2bn from $6.3bn in 2013. Petrofac was involved with the development of the West Don oil field in North Sea, Satah al-Razboot offshore oilfield in Abu Dhabi and the Bacchus oil field in Central North Sea.

10. Seadrill - $4.9bn

Seadrill provides rigs for drilling in shallow, deepwater and ultra-deepwater environments. The Bermudan company reported revenues of $4.9bn in 2014, as compared to $5.3bn in 2013.
Seadrill operates a fleet of 69 units comprising drillships, semi-submersibles, jack-ups and tender rigs that are capable of operating in shallow to ultra-deepwater areas.
The company was involved in the development of offshore oil fields including Victoria field in Norway, Erha Deepwater Development in Nigeria and Montara oil field in Timor Sea, Australia.
